Six Bricks for Early Learners

What is Six Bricks?

Six Bricks is a hands-on tool for ‘learning through play’, developed by Care for Education, South Africa & powered by the LEGO® Foundation, Denmark. Six Bricks consist of red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue and light blue 2 x 4 DUPLO® bricks.

There are over 500 activities available for Six Bricks which enable physical, cognitive, social and emotional development for preschool children.

Description:

This session empowers early childhood educators with innovative teaching techniques using the transformative LEGO “Six Bricks” method. Six Bricks fosters creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaborative learning in young children. Educators gain practical skills to enhance their classrooms, enabling joyful early education experiences.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the basic principles and purpose of the Six Bricks methodology.
  • Identify the key developmental areas (cognitive, motor, social-emotional, and language skills) that Six Bricks activities support.
  • Gain hands-on experience in facilitating Six Bricks activities
  • Learn how to integrate Six Bricks activities into everyday classroom routines and the broader curriculum.
  • Learn strategies for adapting Six Bricks activities to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with special needs.
