Description:
This hands-on, interactive workshop is designed for Pre-K to 2nd-grade teachers who want to foster a love of mathematics in their students through play-based learning. Research demonstrates that children (and adults) grasp mathematical concepts more effectively when they are taught in a playful, engaging manner. This session will showcase a variety of playful math strategies that teachers can implement in their classrooms to help young learners develop foundational math skills in a joyful and engaging way.
Participants will experience activities and techniques that incorporate math into games, storytelling, manipulatives, movement, and creative problem-solving tasks. By the end of the session, teachers will leave with a toolkit of resources to create a playful math learning environment that encourages exploration, critical thinking, and collaboration among students.
This session will ensure that teachers feel confident in turning math instruction into an enjoyable, interactive experience for their young students.
